Podcasts are a great resource for free information that you can consume while you are working, driving, working out, or when you are trying to knock out the backlog of weddings @ 11pm on Sunday evening. I have listened to podcasts for years and I truly feel they have made an impact in both my personal and business life. Today I share 10 of the podcasts I am subscribed to that help me stay on top of the photography industry as well as focus on building my business.
My name is Tj, I have a problem. I am addicted to buying camera bags. Each one better then the last or at least thats how I try to convince my wife. Today I wanted to share a GREAT travel bag that I have been using the last few weeks. Lets take a look at the VEO Messenger Bag from Vanguard.
This weekend my friend Ryan and I went on a road trip to Chicago to see Paul Gero, Sony Artisan, speak at the Garfield Park Conservatory. The class was great the venue was perfect and the friendly employees from Dodd Camera did an awesome job helping photographers both novice and pro learn new techniques and improve their photography skills!
If you have been following me on Instagram or social media you will see I have been posting a lot of pics live from my sessions and my weddings. This has been one of the big reasons that I have transitioned to mirrorless for my primary cameras. My goal was to be closer to my clients and be apart of the events that were unfolding around me. Posting to social media from the shoot is one way that I can do that! Recently a fellow photographer asked what my workflow was to be able to do that so quick. So I thought I would share!
A few weeks ago I picked up 3 of the Yongnuo YN-600 LED lights for a series of interviews I am working on. I purchased the lights because they have a variable white balance, came with a remote control and they could be controlled by bluetooth. If you are in the market for a low cost video light that has variable white balance, this is the light for you! Check out the full review below!
OnOne is a software development company that focuses on improving your life as a photographer. They have a great suite of tools for Mac & PC and they are constantly making better and faster improvements. As I was checking out the new version of the On1 Photo 10 I stumbled upon their mobile app section and downloaded their Photovia app. What a time saver! Think of lightroom mobile but better. Continue reading to see how I shaved a ton of time off of my workflow.
Today I wanted to share some of my favorite deal sites for photographers. I have saved a punch of $ by signing up for these sites. They have everything from actions to presets, template downloads and many more! If there are others I forgot please leave it in the comments!
This past weekend I was fortunate to speak at our summer conference “Summer Snap” on the topic of Lightroom. One question that came up was “Is it possible to export your images with the filename on the image?” Today we present a work around to do exactly that!
There is another blog that is keeping track of all of the deals as well:
These deals are going all day at different times. They want you to be on their site basically all day long! I keep checking back to see prices. The easiest way that I found was to head over to the prime page and choose electronics as the category:
Today we get a little bit “techy”. I am currently rebuilding my website and I needed to pull a bunch of files from several folders. After a little bit of tinkering I figured out that I could very easily do this with one line of code in terminal!
